Moonlight in Marin: Full Moon Hikes in Marin County
Put this on your itinerary if you’re visiting Marin County during a full moon: Marin Moonshiners Full Moon Hike & Picnic.
“We meet at sunset on the evening of the Full Moon for a moderate, with some uphill, 2 mile hike on a wide dirt road. Our mid hike picnic dinner has spectacular views as the Full Moon rises over SF Bay. Bring a Picnic Dinner for yourself , wine, etc. plus a sense of humor. Make it a special evening for yourself, friends or partner.”
As of this writing, the dates for full moons for the remainder of 2019 are: April 19 + May 19 + June 17 + July 17 + August 16 + September 14 + October 14 + November 13 + December 12. Check the meetup page for current info, as the dates may change.
The group also organizes hikes that aren’t full moon related, so it’s always a good idea to check out their page if you’re interested in a group hike and dinner on any ol’ magical Marin evening. In fact there’s one this weekend, if you’re in the mood to drink wine with like-minded nature lovers while you watch the sun set over the Pacific.
Feeling the pull of the full moon but don’t want to hike? Waters Edge Hotel offers up some pretty nice moon viewing from the deck overlooking the San Francisco Bay…
See you out there!
