Sausalito Travel Guide: A Perfect Day Around Sausalito
Our last Sausalito Travel Guide we posted has been pretty popular, so let’s try another! This time, we’ll get specific with a full day itinerary consisting of seven destinations. Plan to leave your hotel after breakfast around 9, and you’ll be back in time for the complimentary wine reception. From Acqua Hotel, the first stop is about a 5 minute drive. From Waters Edge Hotel in Tiburon and Mill Valley Inn in downtown Mill Valley about 15 minutes.
Taken together, these destinations will allow you to experience the totality of Sausalito: art, food, ocean and bay views, nature, and the unique way of living in this beautiful bayside town.
Sausalito Houseboats. Actually, they’re floating homes, but you’ll hear them called houseboats too. An essential experience offering a peek at the way a unique community thrives on the shores of Sausalito.
Heath Ceramics. This design-driven mid-century modern ceramics brand houses their original factory at this location in Sausalito. You’re sure to find the perfect little souvenir here!
Golden Gate Bridge views at Farley Bar. Time for a beverage and bridge viewing! Sit on the covered porch of this historic building to enjoy views of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Horeshoe Cove. A 5-10 minute walk down to Horseshoe Cove rewards with pretty spectacular close-up views of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Le Garage for a leisurely late lunch. This casual French bistro tucked into a marina serves up nautical views, french cuisine, and friendly service. Super popular with locals, so reservations are recommended. If you follow this itinerary, try for 1:00 or 1:30.
Coastal Trail Loop. Park at the Rodeo Beach lot and head towards the Coastal Trail to Tennessee Point for an easy 1.5 mile loop with stunning views of the ocean and dramatic rocky coastline.
Joinery. For a perfect ending to your Sausalito day, enjoy the bayside vibe from the back deck of Joinery. Good maritime people watching, and a lovely classic Sausalito setting.
See you out there!
