Best Things To Do on Mt Tamalpais: Enjoy The View

Spending time on Mt. Tamalpais is a Marin must-do so it’s included on our Best Things To Do in Marin County “It List”.

Mt. Tamalpais. Almost every outdoor activity under the figurative and literal sun is possible on Mt. Tam, as the locals call it. Mountain biking was invented here. Picnic spots galore. So many trails to hike. Hang gliding! An outdoor amphitheater with summer shows. Waterfall hikes. Okay, that should keep you going for a few days, right?

What we didn’t include in those suggestions for things to do is: just enjoy the view. This little spot on West Ridgecrest Boulevard is a perfect place to position yourself for a sky-high view of Stinson Beach from rolling hills of Mt. Tam.

Bonus — it’s a also the place where people who like to fly take off. It’s truly a wow moment to watch people run to the edge and jump while their sail catches them. You'll be mesmerized as you watch them drift down to the beach, swirling over the trees and swooping over the Pacific before landing on Stinson.
