Marin County is a Natural Bay Area Staycation Destination

Marin County is a Natural Bay Area Staycation Destination

If you have staycation on your mind, you’ve come to the right place! Marin County is an easy drive from anywhere in the Bay Area but the minute you check into one of our Marin Hotels you’re going to feel like you’ve traveled far from home.

When you visit Marin, you’re in for stunning views, miles of hiking trails and coastline, and the peaceful feeling that only nature can bring. The vast majority of Marin County is comprised of protected open space and farmland — about 80% of the county — and that is the defining feature of Marin County: the unspoiled beauty in all of that open space.

Muir Woods and Stinson Beach and Point Reyes National Seashore and the Marin Headlands are the crown jewels of the National Park system and they’re all right here in Marin County. Plus California State Parks (hello Mt. Tam and Angel Island), and Marin County Parks (please go to Tiburon Ridge for the most amazing photos) add to our natural bounty.

Include food from the area that pioneered the farm-to-table and bay-to-table movement and local experiences like the ones we write about on this blog and you can see why people from all over the world come here to soak up the singular Marin County vibe. Read on for suggestions on where to stay, what to do, and where to dine during your Marin County Staycation!

Waters Edge Hotel is a contemporary bayside oasis in Tiburon on the shores of the San Francisco Bay. Our location is truly special: only a handful of hotels in all of California enjoy the distinction of a waterside position and Waters Edge Hotel is the only hotel in Tiburon on the water.

Mill Valley Inn is a charming historic property nestled in a cluster of Redwoods, and the only hotel in downtown Mill Valley. Our guests enjoy walking to everything there is to do in town from restaurants to live music to hikes in the Redwoods and around the hidden stairways of Mill Valley.

Also: daily complimentary wine & cheese reception, fresh baked cookies, all day coffee and tea service, EO bath products, yoga mats and more. You may not want to leave the hotel!
