Travel Guide: Visiting Golden Gate Park in San Francisco

Travel Guide: Visiting Golden Gate Park in San Francisco

Pro Tip: stay at one of our Marin Hotels and day trip to San Francisco. The trip over is easy and fun! Here’s how to get to San Francisco from Marin. Now you need a San Francisco Itinerary! We submit Golden Gate Park on a Sunday.

There’s always lots going on — Swing Dancing, roller skating, music performances, outdoor drinks and dining, picnicking, people watching, strolling, row boating. Something for everyone! San Francisco travel has handy visitor guide here. And if you want to Lindy in the Park on Sunday here’s information. Here’s info for roller skating. And Bandshell Concerts. And rowing on the lake. And outdoor cocktails and music.

Where to Park in Golden Gate Park

If you’re driving….

In Golden Gate Park. There is paid parking in an underground garage. Set your GPS to Music Concourse Underground Garage. Drive time from Acqua Hotel is about 15 minutes, and from Mill Valley Inn and Waters Edge 20-25 minutes.

Near Golden Gate Park. Try for a free spot in the neighborhood around the park by setting your GPS to The Coffee Movement, a cafe about 8 blocks (20 minute walk) from the centrally located de Young Museum in the park. Drive around the area to see if you can snag a spot, it happens!

If you’re taking the Ferry from Marin to San Francisco, regular bus service runs from Pier 39 and the Ferry Building to the park. Of course San Francisco is awash in ride share so that’s always an option.

See you out there!
